Wooden deck maintenance

Find out more.

Outdoor wood turns grey under UV light and damp, gets stained and can become slippery. Maintenance in three stages restores its colour and protection: cleaning the boards and gaps, de-greying to revive the colour of the wood, then applying a suitable wood oil once dry.

We work on tropical hardwoods, treated pine, Douglas fir and larch, and clean composite decks. A visit before the warmer months lets you enjoy a healthy, pleasant deck.

Frequently asked questions

Your questions.

When should a wood oil be applied to a wooden deck?

On clean, dry wood, usually in spring or at the end of summer, outside rainy periods. We advise you according to the wood species and orientation.

Is de-greying always necessary?

No, it is offered when the wood has turned grey and you would like to bring back its original colour.

Do you treat composite decks?

We clean composite decks; they are not treated with wood oil.

How does it work?

Simple, in three steps.

Maison Owlaris provides wooden deck maintenance throughout Hauts-de-France: around Steenvoorde (Cassel, Hazebrouck, Bailleul), in Dunkirk and Bergues, on the Opal Coast (Calais, Boulogne-sur-Mer, Le Touquet), in Saint-Omer, Lille and Béthune. See the map.
