Your data

Privacy and personal data.

Updated: 14 October 2026. This policy applies to the owlaris.fr website and to exchanges with Maison Owlaris. It complies with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applicable in France and Belgium, and the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (nFADP).

In brief

  • We only ask for what we need to reply to you: your name, a way to contact you and what you need.
  • Your data is never sold, rented out or used for advertising.
  • No cookies, no third-party tracking services (no Google Analytics, no advertising pixel).
  • You can view, correct or have your data deleted at any time: contact@owlaris.fr.

Data controller

OWLARIS (Maison Owlaris), 4 rue d’Hondschoote, 59114 Steenvoorde, France — contact@owlaris.fr — +33 7 69 97 72 68. Our size does not require us to appoint a data protection officer: write to us directly and the manager will reply.

What we collect, why and for how long

In the forms, fields marked with an asterisk are needed to reply to you; the others are optional. We never ask for a date of birth, an identity document or bank details on the website. Nothing is sold or paid for online.

Photos: if you attach any, they are used only to prepare the quote and are never published without your consent. Photos taken with a phone may contain its location: you can turn this off in your camera settings, we do not need it.

After sending a form, if you have given your email, you receive an acknowledgement of receipt. We do not sign you up for any newsletter.

Who has access

  • Maison Owlaris: only the people handling your request, with password-protected access.
  • Our hire partner (Marée Sonore Rental): only if your request concerns reception equipment, and only the information needed for delivery and installation.
  • Our technical service providers, acting only on our instructions: Hostinger International Ltd (Cyprus) for hosting the website and email, in the European Union; Supabase Pte. Ltd. (Singapore) for the database, stored in Ireland (European Union).
  • Our chartered accountant and public authorities, only when required by law (accounting, tax audits).

Your data is stored in the European Union. If a service provider needs to access it from another country (Supabase technical support, for example), this transfer is governed by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses included in its contract. For people in Switzerland, the European Union offers a level of protection recognised as adequate.

No automated decision-making or profiling is carried out using your data.

Audience measurement

To know which pages are useful and to improve the website, we measure its traffic with our own tool. Details are on the Cookies and trackers page.

  • Without your consent (default choice): nothing is stored in your browser. We only count the pages viewed, where they came from, the type of device and an approximate town. To group the pages of the same visit, the server calculates a temporary fingerprint from your IP address and browser; it is never recorded and changes every day, so it cannot be used to track you or to recover your IP address.
  • With your consent (banner): a random number is kept in your browser for 13 months maximum, to recognise a later visit and see the anonymous path through the website.
  • Never recorded: your IP address, name, email, telephone number or anything you type in the forms.
  • Retention: 25 months maximum, then automatic deletion. The data is used only for Maison Owlaris's statistics.

You can change your mind at any time:

Approximate town: “IP to City Lite” database from DB-IP (CC BY 4.0 licence), queried on our server.

Prospecting among businesses

Maison Owlaris contacts establishments located in France by email or phone (accommodation providers, property managers, reception venues, businesses and local authorities) to present services related to their activity. We never send prospecting emails to private individuals.

  • Data used: name of the establishment, activity, address and business contact details (email, telephone, website), taken from public sources: the French business directory (data.gouv.fr), OpenStreetMap and the establishment's website.
  • Objection: every email contains a “Stop receiving our messages” link; unsubscribing is immediate and permanent. You can also write to contact@owlaris.fr.
  • Retention: 3 years after our last contact without a reply, then deletion; the address of a person who has unsubscribed is kept solely so that they are not contacted again.

Security

The website is fully encrypted (HTTPS). The forms are protected against bots without any third-party service or tracking. Access to requests and client files is restricted to Maison Owlaris and password-protected.

Your rights

You can request access to your data, its rectification, erasure, restriction of its use and portability at any time, and object to its use (in particular for prospecting, without having to give a reason). Where processing is based on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time, without affecting what was done before. In France, you can also set instructions on what happens to your data after your death.

To exercise your rights: contact@owlaris.fr or by post to the address above. We reply within one month. We only ask you for proof of identity if there is reasonable doubt about your identity.

If you believe your rights are not being respected, you can complain to the supervisory authority of your country: in France, the CNIL (cnil.fr); in Belgium, the Data Protection Authority (autoriteprotectiondonnees.be); in Switzerland, the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (edoeb.admin.ch).
